The Shona Project Partners with well-known New York fashion brand, Alice + Olivia for fundraising project.
Similar to many other organisations, COVID-19 has been tough for The Shona Project. We have had to cancel all of our normally booked out school workshops and conferences. This has had a devastating impact on our ability to raise funds to support our work. Our amazing team has been working hard to find new ways to support the young women and girls of Ireland, which is needed now more than ever before.
Just when we needed it most, Stacey Bendet, CEO of Alice + Olivia, and an all-round superhero has donated hundreds of masks to raise vital funds for The Shona Project. With a striking print and durable, machine-washable material, wearing these stunning masks means you don’t have to sacrifice on style or comfort when supporting safety measures. Winning!
The masks cost €8.50 plus €1.50 postage and packaging and can be purchased from our shop HERE.
100% of proceeds from the sale of these masks will be reinvested in the development and delivery of our projects. Just like the girls we work with, we are strong, resilient, positive, and determined, and we will bounce back from this challenge stronger than ever. Alice + Olivia is a New York City-based contemporary clothing company with designer Stacey Bendet at the helm. The global brand launched at Barneys in 2002 and is now sold in over fifty countries.
Alice + Olivia has put a huge amount of effort into responding to the needs of the community during the Coronavirus Pandemic.
Along with donating face masks to non-profits around the globe, Alice + Olivia has been giving back in many other ways. Some of their efforts include; donating over $20,000 to No Kid Hungry who helps feed 11 million children who no longer have access to school closures as a result of the pandemic, donating supplies to create 50,000 face shields for doctors and nurses, and donating fanny packs to doctors and nurses to protect their PPE when going between patients.
