Question, what do you see when you look at this picture?

There’s only one word that comes to our minds, and its FIERCE!

By posting this photo earlier today, Demi Lovato says that she has conquered “biggest fear” by showing her fans what she looks like without Photoshop.

“This is my biggest fear. A photo of me in a bikini unedited. And guess what, it’s CELLULIT!!!! I’m just literally sooooo tired of being ashamed of my body, editing it (yes the other bikini pics were edited – and I hate that I did that but it’s the truth) so that others think I’m THEIR idea of what beautiful is, but it’s just not me,” she wrote.

“This is what I got.”

None of us have ever been under the illusion that Demi’s life was perfect. While she has had an amazing musical career, she has also struggled with mental health issues and addiction, and last year she survived a near-fatal drug overdose. She has always claimed to be a work in progress.

Today, she announced that she plans to start a “new chapter”, living an “authentic” life instead of caving to the pressure to look perfect.

“So here’s me, unashamed, unafraid and proud to own a body that has fought through so much and will continue to amaze me when I hopefully give birth one day,” she shared.

“It’s such a great feeling to be back in tv/film while not stressing myself with a strenuous workout schedule before 14 hour days, or depriving myself from a real birthday cake rather than opting for watermelon & whip cream with candles because I was terrified of REAL cake and was miserable on some crazy diet s–t,”  she explained.

Even though her post promotes self-love and body positivity, Demi says she doesn’t love the way she looks.

“Just so everyone’s clear.. I’m not stoked on my appearance BUT I am appreciative of it and sometimes that’s the best I can do”

We don’t know about you but we think she looks like a beautiful, authentic, perfectly imperfect human.

Just like the rest of us…
