Hey! Are you wrecked? Shattered? Knackered?

You could be totally burnt out from the overload of doing, thinking, and feeling too much. Burn out happens when your life becomes a hamster wheel and you don’t know how to get off. It can happen when you’re studying, working, training, or partying really hard, and you don’t allow your body, mind, and soul time to recharge. It’s really like running a car relentlessly for miles and miles without checking in to make sure that all the parts are in working order, and that it has enough fuel. Eventually, that car is going to have a breakdown, and, girlfriend, so might you.

According to Psychology Today, the signs of burnout or exhaustion are:

  1. Chronic Fatigue
  2. Insomnia
  3. Difficulty concentrating or paying attention
  4. Physical Symptoms (such as chest pain, shortness of breath, stomach problems, dizziness, fainting, and headaches)
  5. Low Immune System
  6. Loss of appetite
  7. Anxiety and or depression
  8. Anger or an increased tendency to lose your temper.

In fairness, these could be symptoms of lots of things, but if you are burnt out, you probably know it, and your first step should be to stop what you’re doing, and give yourself some love. This is a great (and cute) video on burnout by Jaiden Animations.

Remember, signs of burnout should never be ignored. If you don’t stop by yourself, your body and your mind will rebel and go on strike, which is the last thing you need.

Be nice to yourself. Always x
