This week, on October 10th-12th upwards of 16,000 young people will visit Zeminar at the RDS to hear from some of Ireland’s most inspirational people, including The O’Donovan brothers, Sr Stan, Blindboy, Sinead Burke and Anna Geary, aswell as our very own Nicole Ryan and Anna Keogh.

Nicole is the founder of Alex’s Adventure of a Lifetime, and has travelled the country educating young people about the dangers of synthetic drugs as a way to honour her beloved brother Alex. who passed away aged 18 almost 2 years ago. She say’s “I’m going to be talking a little about myself, share Alex’s story and how he continues to save lives today. It’s really an honour I’m both proud and grateful to get this opportunity.”

Anna is a qualified sexuality educator and our go to girl for all questions about sexual relationships, sexuality and relationships. She thinks we should talk more about our bodies and our relationships and wants to encourage us to be more comfortable in our own skin. Anna says “My talk will be a light hearted sex Ed lesson on how to be safe and have fun using a fresh format to speak to young people how they speak to each other. I’m so excited as it gives me a chance to showcase how sex Ed doesn’t have to be all risk focused 🤓”

The Zeminar founders Ian and Damien are good friends of The Shona Project, and we wish them all the best this week. Get down there if you can, its not to be missed.
