Last week, I visited the 2nd, 3rd and 4th years girls in St Al’s School Carrigtwohill. The girls were open, honest and respectful, and poured their hearts into their goals, apologies and promises.

In the future, these girls want to be animators, vets, camogie players, teachers, soldiers, actors, singers, and world leaders. Above all, most wanted to be happy and make their parents proud.

Most of the girls said that the biggest obstacle to achieving their dreams was themselves, followed closely by the phone, wifi, netflix, you tube etc (anyone else see a theme here?).

The most heartwarming inspiring part of the entire day was the sheer number of apologies that were made. There were so many I couldn’t take pictures of them all. However, I will return them all to the school so they can be displayed on a wall. Girls, you should all be so proud of yourselves. I hope you all achieve your hopes and dreams, and I look forward to seeing you all soon x
