If you haven’t come across Herstory yet, you need to check it out. Led by the fabulous Melanie Lynch, they aim to “tell the multi-faceted, lost, forgotten and untold life stories of Irish women from history and today; to capture their individual characters, achievements, and the patriarchal dogma they challenged.” You can read some of the amazing stories of  badasses long forgotten here.

This weekend, the Herstory team have organised a light projection festival to celebrate women and girls, illuminating the country with images of women when the Christmas lights go out over the weekend of Nollaig na mBan (Women’s Little Christmas).  The event aims to encourage us all to share the stories of amazing women, from your Granny and her amazing stew, inspirational women from all over the world, to our forgotten national heroines.

Events are taking place all across Ireland. See whats happening near you here. We are delighted to be taking part in the Waterford event in WIT, and will share pictures on  Twitter, Facebook and Instagram throughout the day.

Happy Nollaig na mBan y’all.
