Here at The Shona Project, we work to empower the new generation of young people. We understand that growing up in Ireland in 2024 can be very challenging. We also understand that being parents, guardians or just someone with a teen in their life can also be challenging. A main stressor for our young people is exams, knowing how to prep and keep their cool. It can be very hard to understand what they are going through and even more difficult to know how you can help. So, in partnership with our friend Mary Bradley, we are delivering a 2-hour online workshop specifically designed to support teenagers in managing and understanding exam anxiety.

The details:

  • The workshop will run from 7 pm to 9 pm on Tuesday the 5th of February
  • The cost of the workshop is €29 per student
  • A variety of post-workshop resources (including an interactive workbook and pre-recorded meditations) will be made available to each attendee.

This workshop is for your teenager if:

  • They are spending hours studying but still not seeing results
  • They feel anxious and stressed at the thought of studying
  • They avoid studying because of exam anxiety/fear of failure
  • They are burnt out with homework and study
  • Their exam anxiety makes it difficult to focus in exams
  • They want to succeed in their exams but anxiety is standing in the way

This 2-hour online workshop is specifically designed to support teenagers in managing and understanding exam anxiety. This unique online workshop is facilitated by Mary Bradley and The Shona Project. It was also designed by Mary, who is a teacher and mindfulness instructor, in consultation with Dr Alison Mc Fadden, Child and Educational Psychologist.

The workshop uses an evidence-based approach to help young people understand their anxiety and cope with anxiety in the run-up to exams.

It is special in that it draws strategies straight from Dr Mc Fadden’s own research in test anxiety. Mary Bradley has over 10 years of experience working with teenagers and is a qualified meditation and breathwork instructor. Mary puts into practice evidence-based strategies in teaching teenagers how to relax their bodies and mind as they prepare for exams.

This workshop takes place online and provides students with some fantastic resources to use during and after the workshop. (Students are not required to have their mics or cameras on but interaction in the chat box will be encouraged)

  • Online 2-Hour Workshop
  • Combat Exam Anxiety: The Journal
  • Recorded guided sleep meditation
  • Recorded pre-exam meditation
  • Recorded muscle and breath relaxation exercise
  • Recorded breath relaxation exercise
