Hey! Are you wrecked? Shattered? Knackered?
You could be totally burnt out from overload of doing, thinking and feeling too much. Burn out happens when your life becomes a hamster wheel and you don’t know how to get off. It can happen when you’re studying, working, training or partying really hard, and you don’t allow your body, mind and soul time to recharge. Its really like running a car relentlessly for miles and miles without checking in to make sure that all the parts are in working order, and that it has enough fuel. Eventually that car is going to have a breakdown, and, girlfriend, so might you.
According to Psychology Today, the signs of burnout or exhaustion are:
- Chronic Fatigue
- Insomnia
- Difficulty concentrating or paying attention
- Physical Symptoms (such as chest pain, shortness of breath, stomach problems, dizziness, fainting and headaches)
- Low Immune System
- Loss of appetite
- Anxiety and or depression
- Anger or an increased tendency to loose your temper.
In fairness, these could be symptoms of lots of things, but if you are burnt out, you probably know it, and your first step should be to stop what you’re doing, and give your self some love. This is a great (and cute) video on burnout by Jaiden Animations. If you like it, here’s another great one on Anxiety.
Remember, signs of burnout should never be ignored. If you don’t stop by yourself, your body and your mind will rebel and go on strike, which is the last thing you need.
Be nice to yourself. Always x
