Shona handbook

Hi there! Chances are you are here because you have a teenage girl in your life that you want to support. They might be struggling and you just don’t know how to help. Well, that’s where we come in. Our Survival Guide Handbook is a handy little tool that will help the girl in your life navigate life as a teenager in Ireland.

Now more than ever, the young girls of Ireland need our help. COVID and the uncertainty surrounding the pandemic has left them feeling isolated, scared and stressed. This can be seen in the shocking statistic that Ireland has the highest rate of suicide among young girls in Europe! Our handbook aims to provide them with information, advice and some practical life hacks to help them not only survive but thrive over the next few years!

In 51 pages, The Survival Handbook for Girls is packed with content including making new friends, mental health, staying positive, the online world, and ways to take care of yourself, our little handbook aids teenage girls of Ireland to turn their can’ts into cans and their dreams into plans.

Why do people love it?

So, have we convinced you to purchase your copy yet? Well, we wanted to share with you what other people had to say about our handbook.

Every girl should have a copy. The one word I would use to describe it is powerful! – Parent of a 15-year-old-girl

With the help of teachers across the country in 2019, 30,000 copies of our handbook were provided to secondary school girls! How cool is that? Our Survival Guide is even used by some teachers as a resource for their SPHE class! Check out what a teacher had to say below.

Nothing hits us in the feels more than a young girl reaching out to us herself to tell us how much our work has positively impacted her. Recently, we received the below message from a 14-year-old girl who received a copy of our handbook from her aunt!

This book really helped me at a time when I was struggling. It helped me learn that I am always enough!

A note from the Shona team

We’ll leave you with this. This book was written for girls by girls. It was put together by a huge team of amazing people, including teachers, parents, experts, doctors, mental health professionals, students and girls of all ages. Every single one of them knows how it feels to be a teenager, and wishes they had a book just like this one back in the day. The handbook is dedicated to the girls out there that think they are alone. So, we shared our stories in this book and now they will know they are never truly alone x
