When it comes to marketing, so many brands these days are throwing empty cliches at young people in a bid to sell them stuff they don’t need. This is why this new ad from Always (which we all need) has absolutely nailed it when it comes to spreading a really powerful message.

The mission is to boost girls’ confidence by encouraging girls everywhere to embrace failure as fuel to build confidence & Keep Going #LikeAGirl. It is based on a US study of 16-24 year old girls which found that 50% of girls feel paralysed by the fear of failure. Because of this so many young woman avoid trying new things and prefer to stay in their “comfort zone” which means they never reach their full potential.

Failure is a part of life, and an important part of our learning and development as human beings. Here is Ireland, we have a particular fear of putting ourselves out there for fear of the “who does she think she is?” mentality which makes it so hard to fail time and time and time again and keep getting back up time and time and time again.

Lets get behind each other and applaud each other’s efforts, and not just the results. Fail, Get Up, Try again, Fail Again, Learn, Get up Again, Repeat as desired…
