As our organisation continues to grow and positively impact society we are now seeking to recruit two new roles to join our team and help us to educate, empower and inspire today’s Irish girls to become tomorrow’s strong confident and curious young women by building and maintaining our network of stakeholders, supporters and Shona Sisters.

The Shona Project is a multi-award-winning national non-profit which was launched in 2016. It is an innovative support system for young girls living in Ireland, which has already reached over 35,000 girls through its school workshops, 300,000 girls monthly through online articles and videos, our multi-award winning SHINE Festival, our national ambassador programme, and our recently launched mentorship programme.

The Shona Project has gathered a huge amount of momentum and has created a movement to support the next generation of powerful and authentic young women. The new roles are purpose-driven, and provide an excellent opportunity to contribute to ensuring the next generation of Irish women feel empowered and supported to achieve their potential.

Administrative Assistant

Accounts Technician

Both roles are part time and based in our Waterford Office

Administrative Assistant

Job Description

  • Provide administrative support to CEO and team including email correspondence and generation and distribution of memos, letters, spreadsheets, forms, etc.
  • Plan, organize, and schedule company meetings and events in the office, off-site, and virtually
  • Coordinate domestic and international travel arrangements for team members
  • Communication and liaising with external stakeholders including schools, partners, mentors, ambassadors and others
  • Coordination of training, vetting and on-barding programme participants
  • Maintain filing system, contact database, employee list, and inventory
  • Maintaining an organised office environment
  • Order and oversee TSP supplies as required
  • Any other duties as they arise

 

Skills and Qualifications

  • Circa 2 years experience in a similar role
  • Strong organisational and multitasking abilities
  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in office software (e.g. Google Suite, MS Office)
  • Proven experience in managing projects, programmes or events

 

Hours and Salary

  • 20 hours a week, preferably mornings but flexible as required
  • €30,000 PRO RATA

Accounts technician

Job Description

  • Day-to-day bookkeeping on Sage Accounting Software
  • Preparing weekly payroll
  • Managing the day to day banking activities
  • Responsible for Accounts receivable and Accounts payable
  • Preparing the monthly accounts, budgets, commentaries, reports and financial statements for annual submissions
  • Ensuring TSP is compliant with all tax and other regulation
  • Monitoring TSP financial transactions and controlling budgets
  • Operating software packages to record and retrieve information, including the production of accurate spreadsheets of current financial environment
  • Other ad-hoc duties as they arise

 

Qualification Required

  • Accounting Technician Diploma or other related accounting qualification
  • Circa 2 years experience in a similar role
  • Strong organisational and multitasking abilities
  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in office software (e.g. Google Suite, MS Office) and Sage or similar accounting package

 

Hours and Salary

  • 15 hours a week, preferably mornings but flexible as required
  • Salary commensurate with experience
